The Tavares Education Center serves students ages 3-22 whose medical needs require skilled nursing care as part of their school program.

The Tavares Educational Center utilizes the Unique Curriculum program aligned with the common core, to develop sequenced skills in the areas of: Communication, Motor Skills, Sensory Processing Skills, Self-Care Skills, Socialization skills, and an introduction to Transition skills.

Components of the program are individually designed for each student, and typically include the following components: Daily Recreation/Leisure Activities; Nutrition/Dietary Services; Occupational Therapy; Physical Therapy; Respiratory Care Services; Skilled Nursing Services; Social Work Services; Speech and Language Therapy.

The Parent(s)/Guardian of the child needs to contact the child's school district LEA to discuss whether TEC is an option.
